According to CMS, the overall rating summarizes up to 64 quality measures, reflecting common conditions that hospitals treat, such as heart attacks or pneumonia. The overall rating shows how well each hospital performed, on average, compared to other hospitals in the country. HSHS St. Joseph’s – Breese was the only hospital in the St. Louis area to receive five stars. 

St. Joseph’s Hospital will honor August 1-7 as World Breastfeeding Week, a designation recognized in 49 countries as well as by UNICEF and the World Health Organization.

Breese, IL –An estimated 86 million Americans ages 20 years and older have prediabetes.  And 89 percent of that 86 million have NO IDEA they are at risk.
The National Institutes of Health research has shown that programs like the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program reduces the number of new cases of type 2 diabetes by 58 percent overall and by 71 percent in people over 60.
