Hospital Auxiliary has new schedule for used book sales


The Auxiliary at HSHS St. Joseph’s in Breese has announced a change in the schedule for the sale of used books, puzzles, DVDs, sometimes baked goods and other items that had been offered every Thursday in the hospital Cafeteria Hallway.

Effectively immediately, sales will be offered only the second Thursday in June and the second and fourth Thursdays in July and August, excepting holidays, Auxiliary and hospital events. The time will remain from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dates will include June 8, July 13, July 27, Aug. 10 and Aug. 24. The sale will not be held Thursday, June 22, due to the Auxiliary’s annual meeting.   

In September, the Auxiliary will resume the weekly schedule of sales on Thursdays, again from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the hospital Cafeteria Hallway, excepting holidays, Auxiliary and hospital events.

The Auxiliary also has raffle tickets at $1 each or six/$5 in the hospital Gift Shop for the cross-stitched Noah’s Ark quilt and the gray and white appliqued quilt with black highlights and multiple stitching patterns on the organization’s Wednesday, June 21, raffle.

In addition, a silent auction quilt is in the Cafeteria Hallway with bids due by 3 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays and quilts of various sizes are for sale in the Gift Shop. The Gift Shop additionally stocks seasonal and other merchandise and recently swapped out used books and now has a number of different titles on hand.
