Newborns leave in Christmas Stockings thanks to HSHS St. Joseph Auxiliary

The Auxiliary at HSHS St. Joseph’s in Breese presented parents delivering during December in the hospital’s Women and Infants Center with a special gift – a bright red Christmas stocking for their newborn. One of the lucky families this year was Savannah (seated) and Marvin Collier of Carlyle who were happy to tuck their new baby boy, Daxton, born on Dec. 27, into the white-trimmed stocking before heading home. On hand for the presentation were four Auxiliary/Volunteer Services representatives including (from left) Director of Volunteers Judy Schrage, Auxiliary President Roberta Beer, Auxiliary member Lisa Gallagher and Volunteer Services Clerical Support Assistant Yvonne Ratermann. The Auxiliary have a tradition of providing the stockings each year and hope to continue the practice in 2018.
